Attention: Upcoming SWA Northern CSO regional elections

by | Oct 7, 2015 | News

The Sanitation and Water for All Partnership (SWA) is currently holding elections for their steering committee. The SWA Steering Committee is the body that oversees and guides the SWA Partnership and is comprised of 17-28 members with representatives from each of SWA’s constituencies (these include countries, external support agencies, CSOs, the private sector, research and learning institutions and CBOs).
Currently there are 3 Civil Society Organisation (CSO) representatives on the committee and these posts are now up for election. This constitutes one representative (plus an alternate) from each region – Africa, Asia, Latin America and Northern countries (Europe and USA). Currently our Northern EWP representative is Thilo Panzerbieter (German Toilet Organisation) and alternate Dennis Warner (Millennium Water Alliance) who have done a fantastic job! The other regional elections are currently being processed through the regional networks, but the Norther constituency operates in a different way.
The EWP secretariat would like to invite any of its Northern members (based in Europe or North America) to apply to stand for elections to represent this constituency on the Sanitation and Water for All steering committee.
The advantages of this role are the following:
  • Opportunity to actively contribute and make a lasting impact in ensuring safe water and adequate sanitation is available to all including the most vulnerable communities
  • Exposure to international processes and participation in major international and regional meetings/conferences
  • Recognition for your organisation by fellow members as a sector leader and worthy representative of their views
  • Opportunity to network and meet an incredible range of people from all over the world.
Please find the full terms of reference for the role attached.
If you would like to apply, please send your CV and a short summary of how you fit the criteria to [email protected] by Monday 12th October.
We will then carry out a voting process and the successful candidate will be announced on Tuesday 20th.
We look forward to receiving your applications!
