Claim Your Water Rights: open call for applications

End Water Poverty is now welcoming applications for funding through the Claim Your Water Rights campaign. Every member is eligible to apply for a grant between £1,000-£5,000. Please read our granting guidelines carefully before downloading a concept note form from our website. You must send your completed form to [email protected] by Friday 6 October.

The secretariat will then assess each application against our granting criteria, providing feedback to unsuccessful applicants. We will seek to distribute funds fairly to reflect the geographic spread of our membership, while balancing support for a range of thematic focuses and strategic approaches. We will provide a maximum of two grants per country so submitting joint concept notes with other members in your country or region may strengthen your chances of receiving funds.

Please note that this will be the only open call for Claim Your Water Rights grants this financial year. We plan to open applications again around May 2024.

Accountability & Activism

Last month CIVICUS, EWP and SWA launched a new virtual platform to connect civil society advocates working across different countries and contexts. Accountability and Activism: Civic Strategies for Water and Sanitation Rights offers members of the three organisations a secure space to discuss ideas, share resources and build relations. The platform was created after members suggested establishing a community of practice following our peer exchange on expanding civic space in January. Over 300 groups have signed up to the platform already.

Those who missed the launch can watch a recording of the event here. Please use this recording to familiarise yourself with the purpose, layout and functions of the platform. If you haven’t yet done so, you can register to access the platform by completing this form.

We will share further information on how to use the platform in future newsletters. EWP is very grateful to CIVICUS and SWA for their hard work designing, hosting and promoting this platform.
