Here at the End Water Poverty Secretariat, we are delighted to welcome our new International Coordinator, Al-Hassan Adam to the team!

Al- Hassan comes with extensive WASH knowledge and experience. Previously, he worked in Ghana as a water advocate. He then worked in the United Kingdom for Oxfam – Great Britain as the Global Campaign Manager for Essential Services, and most recently worked with Development Initiatives Poverty Research as the Senior Engagement Advisor – working on acess to information and poverty issues. Al-Hassan has served on the steering committee of Global Water Operators Partnership Initiative, representing civil society. He has also consulted for a number of organisations, including the Blatvatnik School of Government at Oxford University.

“I am excited to join EWP; the coming years are going to be interesting times for advocating for WASH. Humanity has made big progress in reducing the cost of communication gadgets. This has enabled 4.8 billion people to have access to mobile phones. On the other hand, we still have 2.3 billion people without access to sanitation.”

Welcome! The Secretariant is so excited to continuing the great work of EWP and our members, and realising the long term vision to end the water and sanitation crisis.
