WaterAid coordinates an evaluation of WASH sector advocacy during post-2015 process

WaterAid UK is coordinating two evaluations of the water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) sector’s role in influencing the “post-2015 process” which resulted in the adoption of the Sustainable Development Goals at the United Nations in September 2015.

Please see more details below, including links to the relevant Terms of References and details on how to apply (and by when). WaterAid is conducting an internal evaluation of our ways of working during the same time period (‘evaluation 1’ below), while the second evaluation focuses on the impact of the WASH sector more broadly in influencing the post 2015 process (‘evaluation 2’ below). Consultants are invited to apply for either project independently, or both.

Evaluation 1: focuses on the function of WaterAid’s internal ways of working vis-à-vis delivery of advocacy activities related to the post-2015 process. The findings of this evaluation will feed into the second phase of the evaluation. This evaluation must be completed by 17 April 2016. The Terms of Reference are available online as a google doc, or download Phase 2) Post-2015 WASH advocacy evaluation: Terms of Reference Sector-wide January.

Evaluation 2: focuses on the impact of WASH sector stakeholders joint advocacy activities in influencing the post-2015 process. WaterAid will be the project lead and contact point for this evaluation. WHO/UNICEF Joint Monitoring Programme for Water Supply and Sanitation (JMP) and Water Supply and Sanitation Collaborative Council (WSSCC) will also be contributing a focal point to the management team overseeing the consultant(s) and financial and in-kind contributions (amongst other shared responsibilities outlined in the ToR). This evaluation must be completed by 19 June 2016. Terms of reference available here as a google doc, or download Phase 1) Post-2015 WASH advocacy evaluation: Terms of Reference WaterAid Internal January.

Interested parties are allowed to apply for either or both projects. Please submit your expression of interest (meeting the requirements outlined in the ToRs) to Jayde Bradley (Advocacy Coordinator, WaterAid) by 9am 22nd February via email to: [email protected] (queries regarding applications can also be emailed here too). Following a preliminary shortlisting, selected consultants will be approached to participate in a video/skype interview. Appointment will be made shortly after, followed by an inception meeting (location and date to be confirmed).
