Today is an important day to raise awareness about the vital role good hygiene plays in ensuring healthy lives. We call on all governments to ensure that hygiene is not neglected in the Global Goals; we must have an indicator for hygiene! Currently hygiene is not part of the important indicators set to track and monitor countries progress on realising the sustainable development goals to achieve Agenda 2030. This must not be neglected! The indicators are not yet finalised so now is our time to raise awareness of this critical issue and call for hygiene to be recognised and included.
