Human rights side event at Africa Water Week: 19 July

“Understanding the Human Rights Based Approach to Implementing Goal 6”

Tuesday 19 July at 17:30 in Mount Meru Hall – Julius Nyerere International Convention, Shaaban Robert St, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania

This one hour session will explore the multi-disciplinary and professional perspectives of how the human rights to water and sanitation could help to address inequalities. The first 30 minutes of this session will be dedicated to three presentations exploring different examples and case studies about the human rights based approach, followed by one hour of plenary discussion. The session will end with recommendations for AMCOW and national governments on how to successfully achieve the objective of ‘leave no one behind’ by 2030, as well as to contribute to realising the Africa Union’s development agenda of 2063.
