Invitation to ‘Toilets for Nutrition’ session at the European Development Days at Tour & Taxis, Brussels14:45 to 16:00 – Thursday 16 June – Room S4

We would love for you to join experts from nutrition, water and sanitation, development and humanitarian sectors at European Development Days for a practical and informative discussion on the water-energy-food nexus.

Organised by: WaterAid, SHARE Consortium, Action Against Hunger, the European Commission and the German WASH Network.

Registration open until Sunday 15 May: Toilets for Nutrition – Register for the European Development Days

Undernutrition is a barrier to individual wellbeing and prosperity, and undermines sustainable development. Half of undernutrition is associated with unsafe water, inadequate sanitation and poor hygiene (WASH). For too long, this link has been neglected and the WASH and nutrition sectors have worked largely in siloes. Improved coordination, integration and joint action across policies, plans and programmes are needed.

This session will be an opportunity to discuss exciting new projects on ‘good’ integration of WASH and nutrition. It will focus on the significant efforts already undertaken by both sectors, presenting a new WaterAid/SHARE Consortium advocacy tool which analyses WASH integration in national nutrition action plans. It will also present the ACF/UNICEF/ECHO operational manual proposing concrete activities and tools to achieve nutrition security through WASH programming.

Please note this will be a project lab held during European Development Days (EDD16) at Tour & Taxis, Brussels. This session is open to everyone, however you must register for the European Development Days to attend. Registration closes on Sunday 15 May.

We hope to see you there!
