Thank you – we couldn’t have done it without you. Congratulations to all our members on your fantastic work!

It’s been a busy past few months for us here at End Water Poverty. March was an incredible month of action calling for change around the world – we thank all our amazing supporters for making Water Action Month such a success!

Celebrating World Water Day wasn’t enough for us – our members campaigned throughout the whole month of March, calling for change and a better future for all. From book launches to flash mobs, sit-in protests, community empowerment workshops, to submitting petitions and holding marches, our members from around the world stood together to tell governments to keep their promises and achieve Agenda 2030. A truly impressive achievement.

We are so looking to continuing our great work together throughout this year, and to making 2017’s month of action even bigger and better!

Activities and celebrations around the world

And if that wasn’t busy enough, we had a pretty busy April too!

End Water Poverty Human Rights Roundtable: April 18 2016Just as Water Action Month finished, we moved straight onto to holding the inaugural EWP human rights Roundtable – bringing a range of stakeholders together from around the world. This event was a unique and new opportunity for EWP to examine and strengthen the relationship between the human rights to water and sanitation, adequate housing and adequate food.
The event also provided the opportunity to discuss a range of tools and resources for increased monitoring and accountability in the WASH sector.
EWP’s annual International Planning Meeting: 19 – 21 AprilFollowing the Roundtable, the secretariat hosted the annual EWP planning meeting – bringing steering committee representatives together with other supporters to develop the overall campaign priorities and the work plan for the next year. This was a fantastic opportunity to review our work, and set the future direction of the coalition!

Outcomes reports from both events will also be launched soon – once we’ve had a catch of breath! Our coalition is growing from strength to strength and we are so looking forward to continuing our work together to ensure no one is left behind, and for a better future for all.
